Busy may be an understatement, but I'm absolutely flat out at the moment. Definitely a good thing, but there's barely time to stop and write in my blog. That said, I'm forcing myself to disconnect from my speed of light routine for a few moments to update you all on what's happening in my life at the moment.
Firstly, I have slowly been adding small bits and bobs to my web site. If anything, my web site is more of a portal to other projects and web sites at the moment. You will notice I have added links to my myspace and facebook pages, and links to my art galleries. If you're keen to see what I do during the day for work, then please take a look through my design galleries. Nothing like some pretty pictures to brighten one's day!
Moving along... As you may know, I took several months off DJ'ing from November '07 until the end of March this year as I wanted to be with my wonderful wife, Vanessa while she was in the last few months of her pregnancy. Happy to report that our baby boy was born on the 26th of February and is an a total champ. Suffice to say, I am 100% smitten. Every day is a wonderful experience, he can make me smile for so many reasons. I love it. Ness is doing really well and in all we're just loving being parents!
So I'm back into the clubs now, playing the best music in the world - trance. The gigs have been fantastic lately, with Sublime having us on the main stage recently, and a bunch of smaller events playing to dedicated trance fans which have been absolutely rocking. One in particular stands out which was just this weekend gone. The event was Progression Project, and was held at the Phoenix Bar on Oxford Street. It's a small, intimate venue, with a truly underground feel. Anyway, I think it was the most fun I have had playing a set ever. I was lucky enough to be granted a 3 hour set, and I really wanted to do something special for the punters. I got to play a great mix of new tracks, plus a couple of big anthems, which everyone seemed to enjoy. It just gave me so much happiness to see everyone enjoying themselves and getting lost in the trance. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to be able to play at these events. Every day I feel so lucky to be up there playing this music for people, as it only seems like yesterday I was a punter at the clubs, jumping around, imagining what it would be like to be DJing!
I recently launched a trance podcast show. 'What's a podcast' I hear you say! Don't worry it's not as fancy as it sounds. In fact, it's just an MP3 that you can download in different ways. It's a 1hr trance mix and hosted by yours truly. It's like a radio show, only downloadable. You can download the MP3 directly from this site, or you can have iTunes download it automatically, as soon as I have uploaded a new episode. It's really quite cool. Anyway, if you want to check out the podcast, take a look here. I record a new episode every fortnight, and it's usually online Monday nights or Tuesday morning some time. It just depends on how busy I have been! Would love for you to check it out and let me know what you think.
Lastly, for those interested. I have fully recovered from both a torn calf muscle and a torn achilles tendon, which put me out of athletics this last season - meaning I wasn't up for selection for the Olympics. I was very disappointed about this, but at the same time, determined not to let it beat me. So, I'm back at the track and training really hard. I hope to be in spikes in a few months, and competing again by the end of the year!
Well, that's it for now. Keep an eye on my myspace page or facebook group for more updates on gigs and parties. I hope everyone is well.
